Our UrbShark Story

Urbshark Inc. was officially established in March 2025, but the idea began long before that. Like many aspiring entrepreneurs, we shared a common desire—to step away from corporate life and build something of our own. What started as conversations between friends—exchanging ideas and challenging the norm—grew into a shared vision. Not just to build a brand, but to build it with purpose, so that one day, our success can help make the world a better place.

Our first venture focused on reselling services, but we quickly realized it would only turn us into sales agents. We wanted more ownership, more creativity, and a tangible product. That led us to explore consumer goods. Inspired by how simple products—like fidget spinners—could explode in popularity, we asked ourselves: what could we create that’s both fun and functional?

Clothing stood out. But competing with fast-fashion giants like SHEIN felt impossible—until we looked closer. As we studied how mass-market apparel is produced, we became increasingly concerned about the heavy use of chemicals. During this research, we discovered a fabric technology that could transform regular textiles into anti-stain and odour resistance performance wear.

We immediately ordered samples and began testing—spilling coffee, oil, ketchup, wine, and juice. Each time, the liquid wiped right off without leaving a stain. To test odor resistance, one of our founders wore a dress shirt to the gym and put it through the ultimate “armpit sniff test.” No smell. That’s when we knew we had something special.

Before our first production, we learned about PFAS, often referred to as “forever chemicals.” With a future-focused mindset, we made a clear decision: we wouldn’t solve one problem while creating another. Independent lab testing confirmed our concern—the initial coating did contain PFAS. Selling that product was never an option.

So we went back to the drawing board.

Through multiple iterations—repeating spill tests, gym tests, and lab tests—we finally achieved what defines Urbshark today: anti-stain, odor resistance, PFAS-free technology across our T-shirts, polos, and dress shirts. Everyday essentials designed to perform, without compromising health or the environment.
